Room and Board Scholarship
The Native American Scholarship Program covers on-campus double occupancy rate housing at up to nineteen (19) meals per week.
Housing Information and Overview
The University of Maine provides on-campus housing in 19 residence halls. Options include traditional undergraduate residence halls for first year and upper-class residents, suite style living for upper-class residents and graduate housing.
The First Year Residence Experience (FYRE) program is for first year students that are assigned to the following halls:
- Androscoggin
- Gannett
- Oxford
- Balentine (Honors)
- Colvin (Honors)
- Penobscot (Honors)
- Cumberland
- Knox
- Somerset
Traditional housing halls for upper-class students:
- Aroostook
- Kennebec
- Hart
- Balentine (Honors)
- Penobscot (Honors)
- DTAV (Suite-Style)
- Patch (Suite-Style)
- Oak (All Singles)

Graduate housing:
- Stodder
Room and board charges incurred when classes are not in session are not covered by the scholarship. The Scholarship is also only available with full-time matriculated enrollment. Meal plans are only available to students living on-campus.
The room and board scholarship is a form of financial aid. Federal regulations require that a student’s total financial aid package for educational purposes not exceed the total cost of attendance. Your room and board scholarship may be reduced if you are awarded more funding than it costs for you to attend school.
Summer Housing
The University of Maine does NOT provide summer housing.
